Green Honesty featuring Snowbell Jewelry

It's not that easy being green...

I had to link you to this blog post by Snowbell Jewelry, a fellow Twitterer and Etsy Artisan, after reading her latest blog post. I am a person who tries her best to be "green" and hear people preaching to recycle, precycle, and upcycle all the time and that's all well and good in theory to most people but the truth of the matter is that it does take a modicum of discomfort and diligence to do the right thing.

Kudos for the honesty and *high five* for trying!

Suggestive Victorian Do Not Disturb doorhanger in chartreuse green

This is featured on Indiespotting!!

This wooden doorhanger warns "Do Not Disturb" in a delicious chartreuse green color scheme.

The picture is an actual page taken from an antique copy of "Little Women"... The book was destined for a landfill, I salvaged it for mache and the awesome illustrations it contained!

The look on the people's faces in the picture is very suggestive, as is the shocked look of the person in the portrait on the wall behind them!

I just HAD to play with this picture.

This is a one of a kind item and is shipped Insured via Priority Mail.

Toxic Furniture... how sick

So yeah, alot of the materials in the items we put our food on, sit and snuggle on for hours, and put our kids to bed on are TOXIC.... Maybe no shock to you, but it disgusts me.

Here's a link to the state of Washington's "Pollution in People" Less-Toxic Furniture article that really gets the wheels turning!

Here's also an article from Treehugger.com about Killer Couches... I'm about to make a whole house worth's of furniture from papier mache!!

(yes, that's the papier mache throne I have been sporadically working on for two years lol!)

Precycling: Proactive Recycling

Most of us (myself DEFINITELY included) fail to think before we act, ambling along on our pre-programmed itineraries, performing tasks by rote, the same way, over and over again.

Let's mix it up a little... How about the next time you buy something, take a sec to think of the full consequence of your action, the byproducts, and the value you get from the transaction...

PRECYCLE!!
Here's an awesome article I needed to share with you...

The Mother (Earth) Ship Has Landed

I am sooo inspired... These "Earthships" are out near Taos, New Mexico. They are off the grid living, and it's where I think I want to be...

Cute Wrist cuff / anklet / choker in Gray and Spring Green

This soft crocheted wrist adornment can be worn in a number of ways.

The Gray eco-yarn has a deep shiny luster and the cuff is edged in a lacy, energizing, tangy, spring green. There are four holes edged in the same juicy green and the crocheted lacing is the same citrusy key lime color. This is totally adjustable and may also be worn as an anklet,a choker, a garter, or even waist accessory, if you swap out the lacing for something longer like a ribbon or shoe lace. It measures 8 inches (20 cm) long by three inches (7.62 cm) wide.

There is a small hidden pocket concealed softly inside, good for a folded bill, a candy, or some other little favor you may hold dear :).

The cuff is machine washable and washing it will only make it better, felting it and making it a more cohesive yet soft fabric, just dry flat and shape by hand.

This comes to you in a reusable organza bag via First Class mail in the US and Priority elsewhere.

** Money shown in photo is not included in offering ;)
